EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS

Whilst it is great fun going to class and learning to dance, sometimes you just need a little boost to your dancing so one day and weekend workshops are the ideal way of doing this. Balboa Mondays regularly team up with local and national groups to but on workshops and you'll find all the details about those here.

However whilst learning can be fun in itself, the main reason why most people learn to dance is to get out there on the social dance floor. There are many local groups who organise events and we are very lucky in Reading to have a vibrant local live music scene who love to see dancers at their events - for details of all of these hop on over to a fab locally-curated site Reading Vintage Swing Dance Scene for details of all these events (they have a really handy weekly listing and highlights section). However Balboa Mondays also likes to contribute to the dancing possibilities and holds an annual Balboa Mondays Tea Dance to raise money for our home, the magnificant Rising Sun Arts Centre. In 2016 we had a world-renowened US-based balboa and lindy hop dancer just pop in for a few dances - yes the Tea Dance is world famous and has that much of a draw!
